When the program was launched in 2015, it was only the second program of its type at a private school. UHC focuses on job placement in product development and quality assurance for their students, unlike other programs that steer their students solely into research. Through a partnership with Food Safety and Quality Services, Lance provides UHC students with their food safety certification courses, including ServSafe, HACCP and Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCQI), before graduation in order to better prepare students for their careers within the food industry.
