Food safety internal auditing
Become an effective Internal AuditorFood safety internal auditing can be an effective way to continuously improve a company’s food safety and quality system. The key to an effective internal auditing system is to not only identify general compliance to an external or internal standard, but to also verify effectiveness of procedure, program or system that is being audited.
Our 1-Day food safety internal auditing course provides attendees with the knowledge necessary to be an effective internal auditor by utilizing auditing best practices as defined by resources such as the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The course instructor will also provide attendees with plenty of “real life” examples of auditing best practices and techniques within the food industry through class discussions and exercises performed throughout the training.
Training topics include the following:
- Defining audit types (product, process, system)
- Auditor qualifications
- Personal attributes of a good internal auditor
- Preparing for an audit
- Identifying audit trails
- Closing meeting
- Audit report
- Follow up and corrective actions
- Audit exercises
This course satisfies internal auditor training requirements for 3rd party audits such as BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000, AIB, etc.
2-Day Onsite Option-Most Popular
Our most popular request for this training is to deliver it onsite at your location. We cover the same content as stated above but we add a highly successful second day to this training where we apply what was learned from day one by performing a desk audit of at least one of your programs and then taking the attendees out on the production floor to perform a “live” GMP audit. Attendees really enjoy day two and we find that this is the best way to solidify the skills that are taught during the day one training.
Who Will Benefit From Taking This Course
Employees with responsibilities in Quality, Production, Food Safety, HACCP, Auditing, Regulatory Affairs, Food Production, Supervisors, Maintenance, Safety and any other associates interested in achieving a better understanding of Food safety internal auditing and continuous improvement.
Internal Auditors often have an expanded knowledge base due to their involvement in auditing programs and procedures that they are not directly responsible for and are commonly a great source of information for a company.
What Skills Can Students Expect To Learn?
In this training course, attendees will gain an understanding of internal auditing techniques and industry best practices, which can effectively identify areas for improvement before 3rd party, customer and regulatory auditors leave you with negative noncompliance reports. Attendees will also learn how to identify the “audit trails” during an audit by interviewing employees, using your human senses and learning how to ask the right questions.
