PCQI Version 2

What’s Included in PCQI Version 2?

The new version introduces enhanced materials that address today’s food safety challenges, providing in-depth insights into the FDA’s updated preventive controls and safety regulations. This ensures your training remains comprehensive and relevant. Below are some of the new enhancements:

  1. Format - The new course has more modern-looking slides and includes QR codes for participants to quickly access important supporting documents outside of the primary participant manual.
  2. Approach - The approach to training is different as well. The course now uses FDA guidance documents, such as the FDA Hazards Guide, to help with the hazardous analysis exercise
  3. Knowledge checks - Each chapter will have knowledge checks (tests) at the end to help instructors gauge each participant's understanding of the material.
  4. HACCP-based - Course content has been restructured to better follow HACCP principles built upon CCP’s (Critical Control Points) and expanded using Preventive Controls.
  5. Recent events - Several slides have been updated to include more current events, such as recalls and economically motivated events.
  6. Hazards - Version 2.0 takes a deeper dive on specific pathogens of concern for food as well as more specific examples of chemical and physical hazards.
  7. Model plans - Model plan examples have been updated to better assist with learning objectives.
  8. Hazard Analysis - This chapter has been expanded to show participants how to use the recently updated FDA Hazards Guide (FSPCA Form 0231) while performing a hazard analysis.
  9. Preventive Controls - Participants will see clearer examples of how to document preventive controls.
  10. Applicable regulations - FSPCA Form 0064 is a great resource that helps participants better understand each food facility type and applicable regulations.
