COURSE DESCRIPTION

Are the 2.5 day workshops too long to be away from your work? Get your PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certificate by completing our Preventive Controls for Human Food – Blended Course; A self-paced online training (Part 1) and a 1 Day instructor-led training (Part 2).

  • Part 1 is online training through IFPTI (separate registration).
  • Part 2 is an instructor-led virtual training with Food Safety & Quality Services scheduled for January 17, 2023.

Attendees will get a certificate of completion from FSPCA.  This blended course provides an alternate way to get your certificate. Once registered, take the online course at your convenience (estimated time is 8-12 hours) and complete  the instructor-led virtual course with us .

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN

Learn how to develop a FSMA compliant preventive controls food safety plan.  This course covers all of the FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food requirements and we discuss how these requirements apply to your organization and food products.  Topics include:

  • Identifying 3 types of hazards (biological, chemical and physical)
  • Prerequisite programs – what they are and how they support your food safety plan
  • How to conduct a hazard analysis
  • How to develop preventive controls for significant hazards
  • Monitoring preventive controls and corrective actions
  • Validation vs. verification
  • Recordkeeping

Successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a “preventive controls qualified individual” or PCQI and will give you a recognized certificate from FSPCA.
